This is the site where the St Remigius parish church was located until 1800. In 1733, Ludwig's grandparents and in 1767, his parents were married here. Like most of his siblings, Ludwig was christened here, and his great-grandparents were buried here in 1749. His father Johann taught the organist. Bartholomäus Fischenich, the sexton's son, later became one of Beethoven's friends.

In addition to Ludwig van Beethoven's parents, the entry in the baptismal register also records the name of his godfather and godmother: his grandfather, director of music Ludwig van Beethoven, and their neighbor Anna Gertrud Baum.

The old parish church was destroyed by lightning. It was not reconstructed. The pulpit was moved to Bonn Minster, the bell was taken to today's Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Bonngasse, and the baptismal font to the former Minorite Church in Brüdergasse, which was renamed St Remigius Church in 1806 (station 2).

The Saint-Remi parish church, where Ludwig's grandparents were married in 1733 and his parents in 1767, remained at this location until 1800. Like most of his brothers and sisters, Ludwig was baptized there. His arrière-grands-parents were inhumed there in 1749, and his père Johann became an organist. Bartholomäus Fischenich, le fils du sacristain, became Beethoven's friend.

The entry in the register of births shows the names of Ludwig van Beethoven's parents and his wife next to his name: his grandfather Ludwig van Beethoven, maître de chapel, and his wife Anna Gertrud Baum.

Frappée par la foudre, l'ancienne église brûla et ne fut pas rebâtie. La chaire revint à la cathédrale de Bonn, la cloche à l'actuelle église du Saint-Nom-de-Jésus dans la Bonngasse et les fonts baptismaux à l'ancienne église des frères mineurs dans la Brüdergasse, rebaptisée église Saint-Remi en 1806 (station 2).
